Sibling SUCCESS
Supporting Unique Collaborative Care to Encourage Shared Success
The Baylor School of Education’s Sibling SUCCESS program encourages meaningful inclusion of siblings of children with autism within behavioral interventions. These direct services will focus on teaching the siblings strategies to encourage and support their sibling with autism. Another primary purpose of the program is to allow siblings to meet and interact with other siblings. In addition to working directly with families, trainings for professionals on best practices for including siblings as valued team members for family-centered planning.

Opportunities for families:
Opportunity #1
Who: Child with autism and sibling(s)
What:
- Children with autism will work on 1 to 2 individual goals and 1 to 2 joint goals with sibling
- Siblings will participate in meetings to identify target skills, work on 1 to 2 joint goals with sibling, learn about autism, and meet other siblings
Where: Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities
When: 4 Saturdays from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Opportunity #2
Who: Siblings of children with autism
What:
- Siblings will learn strategies to use with their sibling with autism, learn about autism, and meet other siblings
Where: Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities
When: 1 day in June, July, or August 11:00 — 5:00 PM
Cost: Free
Incentive: $30 gift card after your children complete 50% of the study and $45 gift card after your children complete 100% of the study
Opportunity for Professionals
Professional Development
Who: Professionals who provide services for children with autism
What: Equip professionals to collaborate with siblings during service delivery
Where: Varies
When: Single 3-hour workshop
Cost: Free
Incentive: BCBA Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
